B 1 Licensing of Air Carriers / Entry Permissions

Tasks

Department B 1 is responsible for granting operating licence to German air carriers including Air Operator Certificates (AOC), exit permissions, permissions for entry as well as permissions to operate scheduled air services to German and foreign air carriers. In addition, department B1 executes the tasks of the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt under the Law on Securing the Supply of Traffic Services (Verkehrsleistungsgesetz = VerkLG).

  • Operating licences of German air carriers:

    • Initial issue of operating licences for air carriers
    • Change and extension of the operating licence including Air Operator Certificates (AOC)
    • Issue of exit permissions for German air carriers
  • Execution of tasks under the Law on Securing the Supply of Traffic Services (Verkehrsleistungsgesetz = VerkLG)

  • Issue of entry permissions and permissions to operate scheduled air services:

    • Issue of entry permissions for foreign air carriers
    • Issue of permissions to operate scheduled air services for German and foreign air carriers
