Division S - Security
In order to prevent attacks on civil aviation security, both national and European aviation security conceptions and corresponding national and European regulations have been prepared in the past years. Within this scope, the Division S of the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt is responsible for the supervision of the secure supply chain (int. al. regulated agents, known consignors) as well as for the compliance of air-carrier applied security measures.
Tasks
- Approval and supervision of air carrier security programme of German and foreign air carriers
- Supervision of air-carrier applied security measures at German airports
- Designation of air carrier as ACC3
- Approval of of the parties involved in the safe supply chain (regulated agents, known consignors and regulated supplier of in-flight supplies)
- Supervison of the parties involved in the safe supply chain
- Evaluation and approval of computer or web based aviation security training programmes
- Approval of instructors for aviation security training as well as supervision of aviation security training performed
- Acceptance of examinations for aviation security control personnel
- Approval of EU aviation security validators
- Legal affairs, administrative offences and strategic controlling of Division S
